The 2011 Texas Legislature passed a law mandating women to have an ultrasound at least
24 hours prior to abortion, requiring women to have an extra in-person visit. The
purpose of this study was to explore the association between the ultrasound viewing
and waiting period and women's decision-making, and to determine if the extra visit
was burdensome.
