PREVALENCE OF ABORTION COMPLICATIONS AND INCIDENCE OF EMERGENCY ROOM VISITS AMONG 55,000 ABORTIONS COVERED BY THE CALIFORNIA MEDI-CAL PROGRAM

      Using data on all abortions covered by the fee-for-service California Medicaid program (Medi-Cal) in 2009 and 2010, we aimed to estimate the incidence of abortion-related complications, as well as the rate of complications diagnosed at emergency room (ER) visits within 6 weeks of the initial abortion.
