Objectives: Catholic hospitals are a large and growing part of the U.S. health care system. These
facilities prohibit abortion, contraception, sterilization and certain treatment for
obstetric complications or miscarriage. Little is known about women’s awareness of
these restrictions. We conducted a national survey of women to fill that gap in knowledge.
