The Society of Family Planning is pleased to host its Annual Meeting in Baltimore,
MD from December 3–5, 2022, with a pre-conference day on December 2. The meeting this
year will be our first in person gathering since 2019. The virtual meeting in 2021
was hugely successful with over 1,200 attendees. The 2022 meeting will, again, bring
together a community of family planning scholars, clinicians, and partners to gather
and network. The meeting content includes presentations of the latest unpublished
research and clinical practice updates as well as thought-provoking plenaries. Presenters
and attendees represent diverse disciplinary and specialty backgrounds. The Society's
commitment to just and equitable abortion and contraception, informed by science means
uplifting the science generated by our members and is a priority for our Annual Meeting.
A total of 284 scientific abstracts were submitted this year by over 900 investigators.
These abstracts were reviewed by a panel of 70 family planning experts and scored
according to a rubric that included methodology, originality, significance, and potential
impact. We then evaluated the abstracts, which scored highly on all these criteria
and chose 20 for oral presentation. An additional 100 abstracts will be presented
as posters.
